The fifty yards that decide the hole
A sea-level 52° that checked in Denver often hops here. Thin air plus adobe greens is a different invoice. Ellis will not talk grind until the land number is on the page.
Three distances
50, 35, and 20 — not a bucket of random chips
We log arrival at three stock distances you actually face on UNM South and Isleta. Full swings that look pretty on a range are a different species. If your 50-yard land is 44° and your 20-yard land is 58°, that is two clubs pretending to be one story.
Bounce is the second sentence. A wide sole cannot invent bite that loft and spin did not provide. Recut first, grind second, new head only if the rail is still hungry.
Monsoon asterisk
August humidity can return spin that June stole. If you play through monsoon, say so. A dry-June sheet used as an August gospel is how you fly a green you used to hold.
Bring
- 50, 54, 58 — or whatever trio you actually carry
- The ball, not the range mix
- A note about front pins versus back shelves
