Pace after the approach has already spent the brakes
A shallow iron leaves a long putt on a firm adobe surface. People buy a new mallet to fix a land-angle problem. Sometimes the mallet still helps. Sometimes it is a expensive way to miss the same speed.
What the rail is for
Start-line, face at impact, and pace on a plate we can repeat. We are not a green-reading clinic for UNM South’s weird shelves. We are a shop that asks whether your putter is adding or subtracting from a ball that already arrived hot.
Loft on the putter matters more here than golfers from softer towns expect. Too much loft on a fast April surface and the first hop is a skid. Too little and you plow. We measure; we do not quote a magazine loft as gospel.
Honest fork
If your approaches are the reason every putt is 40 feet, book iron land first. A putter session on top of a 42° 7-iron is rearranging furniture in a house with no walls.
